A champagne mermaid gown photographed at the Palazzo Visconti. The bodice is a strapless corset with a sweetheart line, worked in gold and crystal beading that is dense at the centre front and thins outward, and it finishes in a short peplum flounce that breaks the line at the hip before the skirt begins.

Below the peplum the skirt is smooth and close to the leg until the knee, then releases into a tiered ruffle so the hem carries volume the body does not. The veil is cut long enough to overtake the train and is bordered in gold-worked lace on all sides.
