A ballgown cut from brocade silk shot through with colour, so the surface changes as the light crosses it instead of holding one shade. There is no applied decoration anywhere on it.
The whole effect is the cloth. A halter bodice seamed to hold its shape without boning showing, and a full skirt cut to carry the brocade's weight. It is the least worked gown in the collection and the one that photographs loudest.
