A black tulle gown built in tiers, with one ivory flower placed at the centre of the bust. Everything else on it is black, so that flower is the only thing the eye has to hold on to and its placement is the whole design decision.

The sleeves are short gathered puffs sitting off the shoulder, and the neckline between them is a straight band. From under the bust the skirt is built in six or seven gathered ruffle tiers, each one full and soft rather than stiff, so the gown widens gradually to the floor without any structure underneath.
