A black cocktail dress cut to just below the knee, with a sheer lace yoke and long lace sleeves set into a plain crepe body. The lace runs from the shoulders to a line across the chest and then stops; below that the dress is opaque and completely undecorated.

Two pale things break it. At the throat there is a large ivory fabric rose, made separately and pinned on. At each wrist the lace sleeve finishes in a cuff of white feathers, so the hands are framed the same way the neck is. At the hem the crepe breaks into a short ruffled flounce.

The crepe is heavy enough to hold the flounce out at the hem without any net beneath it. The rose and the cuffs both detach, and without them it is a plain black dress. Message the atelier in Amman on WhatsApp and we will make it to measure.
